[i assume this is meant for me because i can see it.
anyway! here they are in the void. jiuqing's out for a walk at some point after they've all received their invitation to the murder mystery party tomorrow. when she spots itsuki, she waves.]
Itsuki heads over to Su Jiuqing immediately, glancing her over for her general condition and Mental State bc apparently she had to go out and find a body!!!!!]
Jiu-chan, [ahhHHhHHhhH] ...is it true? Ryu-kun...
[and of course the first thing itsuki does is bring it up]
[everything is so bad. she's here in the medical bay, busying herself with taking stock of the medical supplies now that things have restocked again. she's a doctor; she knows that it's possible for patients to die. she won't let herself cry about it, but none of this sits right with her at all.]
...it was like this place wanted us to find him. At first I thought perhaps I had come here out of habit, or because I was thinking about coming by to check on the injured after I changed clothes back at the apartments, but the longer I think about it... I'm sure I didn't walk through the archway to the medical bay.
she looks up, her eyes zeroing in on his knuckles, and crosses over to take his hand in both of hers (thank you touch week) before leading him over to the bandages.]
[once kashuu's dumb self has gotten medical treatment, jiuqing comes to find itsuki.
her intent is to reach over and touch his arm again. but it's touch week, and this is probably never going to happen again, so instead she finds herself hugging him behind. she is as surprised about this as he is, probably.
but, after a moment, she speaks.]
...Itsuki.
[it's just his name because honestly she doesn't know what to say.]
[all of his emotions feel sticky and slow, like he's caught in the middle. he knows that he's moving and breathing, but he's not really reacting. then he feels a pressure at his back and arms wrapping around him, and for a moment he can see
...
he looks down at the hands around his middle. he knows those hands, they helped bandage his just yesterday. ah. he closes his eyes, and just starts to cry]
[seriously! here they are, just minding their own business, and suddenly they're stuck in a bubble! if this was happening during touch week they'd probably end up cuddling, but it's not, and so here they are.
jiuqing, deciding that itsuki has had a rough enough time recently without his memories being laid bare for other people to see, reaches out to touch the bubble herself. it glows with a soft light, and then -
it's aquickmemory, but it probably does a lot to explain her attitude towards some things so far. ...unfortunately, maybe love is a subject that should have been avoided with itsuki?
no taking it back now, though.
(you'll get another memshare later i just really did want to share this one with him.)]
Itsuki blinks as the memory fades from view. He has seen Jiuqing look serious before, many times -- but all in the context of her determination. He's never seen her so forbidding, or so resigned.
Though maybe it shouldn't be a surprise, considering the subject. Love is something that always invokes strong opinions... And he can't find it in himself to criticize or feel regret for her choice...
But he'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious,]
...You sounded like you were speaking from experience.
[jiuqing is in the medbay because even though i think it would be delightful if she died, she is absolutely not into that. so! i don't know what the status is of the medbay pods but after an appropriate amount of time for her to not be bleeding out (and after vax and percy have taken a turn, presumably), she can be found there with proper gauze and bandages around her neck, reorganizing the supplies and stealing some bandages and painkillers to restock her bag.
...but she's drained and exhausted, so before she's finished with that, she takes a break. when itsuki enters, she's just stifling a yawn with one hand as she takes a seat.
she's still mostly calm! but also she's still got that calming hairpin in her hair, so. that probably has something to do with it. there's definitely melancholy creeping in at the edges of that calm, though.
[he's coming into the medbay!!! He looks exhausted, but he figures it's no more fatigued than how everyone else is feeling. If he can remind himself of that, then he can keep going.]
pretty fckin exhausted, herself. but she's been powering through it because it's not like she can just let crow die of hypothermia just because she needs a nap. for now though he is stable and resting, and she looks over at itsuki, her expression shifting to concern when she sees how tired he looks.]
...no, but I believe this may be a good time for both of us to take one.
she used the pod! but she looks significantly more worse-off now that the black, tarlike substance is gone, because instead of looking like someone just dumped black goo on her, it is now possible to see the full extent of her injuries. she's pretty heavily bandaged all over, and most of the parts of her that are not bandaged are mottled with bruises.
how is she even alive. don't worry about it.]
I'm... [her brow furrows. god itsuki why are you hurt.] ...what happened to you...?
[after trial, a text will pop up dated to just a few minutes after curfew on thursday. characters will not be able to reply.]
im sorry for breaking my promise wish i could have kept it to the end your trust is important to me since you gave it to me, of all people i need to go but i hope i get to see you tomorrow, jiu-chan and i hope you're alive feels selfish to keep asking for you to hang in there but please do, okay? see you soon
[she'll take a seat at the table!! and when the tea is poured, she smiles.]
I'm sure it's wonderful.
[she sips it! i am assuming it's fine but i'm going to hold off on having her react to it until you tell me what this tea is like because i live in fear of you being like "actually he burnt the tea leaves"]
jiuqing is sitting here, resting after a long day. she has a clover in her hand, and she's twirling it between her fingers, deep in thought. she seems pretty peaceful.]
