[Per your instructions Yasusada is having a good day and now Itsuki is here to ruin it--
No okay I'm kidding. BUT HERE HE IS inspecting the meeting hall!!! Unsurprisingly, he fits right in to this style of building; he turns to Itsuki when he sees him!]
[YAMS IS SO MUCH SHORTER THAN ITSUKI I JUST REALIZED HELP
He can sense the slut energy approaching but he does nothing to stop it because Itsuki is harmless. It's fine. Also yes he can read and he's busy looking for books about OKITA-KUN!!!!!!!!]
Oh, Itsuki. [HELLO SLUT--why is there a book on his head?? He reaches up, feeling the cover as if that will help him figure out what it is] I'm not sure yet! I don't read a lot of books.
But Yausada looks--not great, though he could look worse. He still has angry red scratches on his face, as well as some cuts, and there's a bandage on his throat; his voice still sounds weak and raspy, but he's walking fine and he looks alert.]
I'm okay. I'll heal later. [But, peering at Itsuki--] Are you okay?
[I keep making you start our PCs I'm in tears I'LL GET THE NEXT ONE... it's fine
Anyway yams is better!! He has been in the healing pods... the bandage on his throat is gone, and his voice sounds a lot better, though he still has some bruises and scars on his face from his adventure.
He nods in agreement.]
Maybe we can? Shale helped me leave a memorial for the ghosts from the temple, before.
[yams is here to kill itsuki for getting their captain murdered with gayness
no jk. Unfortunately sad sword is just here being sad--back at the dojo, most likely, just sitting and gazing out across the outdoor training area. He doesn't react to Itsuki's presence, and there's definitely a heavy air of sorrow about him, but he won't turn him away if Itsuki approaches.]
Itsuki will head over to sit next to him. His air is similarly quiet? maybe? -- he's trying to aim for reassuring but he's clearly distracted and restless. he takes a deep breath, lets it out.
he's not sure what to say, he finds that he doesn't want to say anything for once. nothing encouraging, nothing positive. he just wants to sit here next to Yams and look at the dojo, where they had all just spent the night.]
[the pc where yams finds out that itsuki was love arrowed -- no -- maybe?
but i looked at the handwaved cr chart and i see that he goes to the garden, so they're there now.]
Yasu-kun. [hello, he'll crouch next to him to see what he's doing in the Dirt, but his focus is off -- like he's distracted, or trying to distract himself] Need some help?
[I for one would love making Itsuki explain the concept of love arrows to him
ANYWAY here they are!!! Yasusada's in the greenhouse, probably just gently watering the plants or something. He glances over, and seems a little surprised to see Itsuki--but he moves aside to make space for him.]
Not really. [Thanks yams.] But I don't mind, if you want to.
[well they're trapped in this bubble!!!! Itsuki will look apologetic, and he'll tap on it with a bit of his color power, summoning this memory:
[a pair of women huddle together, one of them on her knees -- head bowed and unresponsive, the other with her arms around her, whispering. they're dressed in bright clothing, their make-up pristine -- except for the bruises blooming across their faces.
your stomach drops, and you turn to the woman gripping your sleeve, fear bright in her eyes]
...Is it him?
[she nods, and there's a sheen of desperation there that you cannot ignore, you've seen it there every day. you put your arms on her, whisper softly in her ear. you don't even wait to see her obey, you're already striding down the hall -- voices and laughter echoing from the rooms around you -- all the way to the end, where you push the door open.
a man is sitting on a futon, but he rises immediately when he sees you. he grins, says something along the lines of 'i thought you said you'd never see me again']
I changed my mind. [your smile is slow and seductive, you know exactly how to play] How about it? Would you like a nice dream?
[he opens his arms in affirmative, and you move close, holding him back. then you feel it. something pulling at you, draining at you -- like someone's put a fist in your heart and is trying to scrape it out. it's unpleasant, but not painful, and you hold on...]
-- Gck, gah -- what's --
[the man starts shaking in your arms, you hold on, face expressionless. you don't move even as he starts hacking, coughing -- blood is spilling from his lips and from his eyes -- his ears, nose, he starts writhing but you keep holding him. it's hard for you too -- he's a grown man, and you're still a scrawny teenager, but you grab him like you've done this before.
finally, finally, he slumps over, motionless. a small orb of light flies out from his chest and enters yours, and your chest that felt so empty feels whole again.
your kimono and face and arms are covered in blood, but disgust is the only emotion you register. you grab the man's face and check his breathing, then slip a hand in his blood soaked clothes for a purse, a bag, anything worth keeping. purse in hand, you slip out the door, leaving the blood-splattered room behind you.]
[HELLO ITSUKI... wherever he is, Yasusada is here being crispy!!! He's probably heading back to the apartments. He looks, mostly, very tired and sad, but he will stop and nod at Itsuki when he sees him.]
Anyway this is honestly valid--even though the Shinsengumi probably didn't have much need for catapults, it's not that much of a stretch for him to know them.]
Mmhmm. They're used for launching things--though, towards the end of our era, I think they'd mostly been replaced by cannons.
Itsuki is looking at all these swords like he's never seen so many sharp objects in one room, he holds up a whetstone like it's the most interesting he's seen, which it is]
So, Yasu-kun... Can you teach me the proper way to take care of a sword?
[he should definitely know, shaking that he hasn't asked earlier]
[The swoom!!! Yasusada, predictably, has immediately made himself at home in here, and he greets Itsuki with a wave. He's all healed up, finally, and it looks like rest has done him some good after the weekend--either that, or the power of being in the SWOOM is just that good, since he looks pretty cheerful.]
Of course! Here, you can help me. [Since he's already got a blade on his lap, of course, all the materials spread out around him. already.] You've really never used one?
Maybe Itsuki asked Yams to help him cut some fruit to take to their pampered Kashuu and jock Buzen. He's washing some of it now, but he is noticeably letting Yams do the cutting.
he pauses at his words, turning to look at him. his gaze is soft, and also guilty]
...Sorry, Yasu-kun. I wish I had more time to write something better... Or maybe I shouldn't have written at all. Didn't really help as much as I thought it would.
week 0, monday, carnival
Itsuki points at the boat, it's floating innocently in the water]
Wanna take it out for a spin?
