Mm... I wouldn't say that. I didn't start drawing until late in elementary school, and I don't think I considered actually making a career of art until middle school or high school... I was more focused on traditional studies before that.
My dad took me to an art museum. I'd never been to one before, but when I saw all the paintings there, it was like my eyes were opening to an entirely new way of seeing the world, one I'd never even realized could exist.

I felt like it was all pulling me in. I wanted to know everything about each piece, so I read every card, and I tried to see every color and every stroke in every painting there. [ a soft laugh. ] That's impossible, of course, but I tried.
Oh, this is for Steel-san. That place I went to with Jiu-chan and the others... It turned out to be somewhere they recognized. The sakura tree might remind them of their home.
Art isn't just about skill, though, you know? It's about putting your heart into what you're making, and sharing those feelings with everyone who sees it.
