Trust me, I didn't think about them that deeply either until they started showing up everywhere. I don't think anyone did. Except for my parents, maybe.

Sounds like another story. Is that one you're okay with sharing?

I guess, but it's not nearly as interesting. My parents were just the local kooks trying to hunt down things that don't exist. Then one day they built a portal to the dimension ghosts come from, and now there's been enough ghosts all over town that no one can deny that they're real.

So it's just been like that? Are they working on a way to reverse it?

What? No. Why would they do that? That portal is like, their life's work. Plus, it gives them super easy access to ghosts and their dimension for research and stuff.

I-it's not so bad! I mean, I'm just giving you the ghost highlights here. Most of the time, nothing happens and everything's totally normal!

[danny seems pretty young to be caught in a situation as chaotic as that one, but itsuki's no stranger to having to grow up hard and fast]

Well, no. That was one of the worse ones, actually, cuz she did a pretty good job of pretending to be human.

Usually it's just like...the Box Ghost pops up yelling a bit and we all leave the building for a few minutes until he gets bored or someone catches him.

So they just catch every ghost that shows up in your town? By themselves?

Uhhh...kind of? Sometimes? There's a few other ghost hunters around now, so they sometimes get to them first.
